Panning in Drum Maps

Have decided to learn the use of drum maps. I am using EZ Drummer, and have that particular drum map loaded. One thing I can not see how to do is panning a drum sound.

Is there a way to do that in the drum map for an individual drum?

Panning is a midi channel specific event usually. No way to this via midi on individual drums when they're driven from the same midi channel.

If you break the MIDI from EZ Drummer out into separate audio tracks (one for kick, snare, hi hat etc), you can control the panning of each drum via the controls in Sonar.

Be careful if EX drummer generates Overheads & Room mics, as panning the individual drums to somewhere different can cause phasing & stereo imaging problems.
