CAN I see People's Sonar X1A Themes?
I'm trying to get some ideas on how people arrange their theme.. I know its to each is own, but I want to see if they changed the color of their console sliders.. for some reason I can't.. can people post a screenshot of their themes, I think this would be neat..

Well, I can't load pictures because I don't have a server which Cakewalk requires but here is a description... Browser on the left so I don't have to drag items so far across the screen when it's on the right. Inspector to the immediate right of the browser Track View to the right of the Inspector. I only reveal the volume slider in minimized view and the actual audio & midi tracks occupy the rest of the screen. Multidock at the bottom and only used for the PRV for the need to work on midi. Open and close this with hot-key. The Inspector has 3 different screensets which open the Clip, Track or ProChannel view. There is one other screenset which just pops up Superior Drummer which is the most time intensive instrument VST I use. Or perhaps you just meant the color scheme in which I use the default but use a gradient of colors on similar tracks i.e. light purple to dark purple for drum tracks, light green to dark green for guitars, light red to dark red for vocals. This way I have a quick view of where I am when the track count gets high.

Middleman Browser on the left so I don't have to drag items so far across the screen when it's on the right. Middleman, Just a heads up, I used to have my browser on the left too because I THOUGHT I had to drag stuff from the browser into the track header area but it still works if you simply drag from browser on the right directly adjacent into the clip area. Gives you a couple of options for the browser location.

Twitch, if by 'themes you mean like color schemes and stuff X1 is pretty broken when it comes to color customization, that's prbably why you can't change the color of your sliders..

I haven't changed much but I've used Icons to get around certain limitations.

Actually, this brings up the thing I am digging most about X1. I don't have a theme at all. I'm whizzing around showing and hiding the browser, inspector control bar and multi-dock all the time. Once you get into it, you can get a real Minority Report thing going. This is what I need to do now, tap tap, reconfigured. Done with that, need to do this, tap tap, I'm there. It needs to mature a bit, sure. But as a base level UI design, I think it's utterly inspired.

Oh, hang on, I realise I'm probably not talking about what you asked about. Colours and stuff I very rarely change in anything, myself.

Mod Bod I haven't changed much but I've used Icons to get around certain limitations. Now that's the right way to use two monitors.

But each person needs to develop the most inspirational approach.

It's a funny one that. In a way, old Sonar fiddiliness ill prepares you for how whizzy the X1 UI is. I find you can sort of generally fling things out of the browser in the direction of where you want them to be, and it works out where to put them for you. I'm exaggerating, but not enormously so.

Middleman, Please don't take this the wrong as I'm not trying to get you to do it my way but you can also drop an effect into the track less than an inch away from the right side browser too. You don't have to drag all the way to the FX bin, just drop it on the track anywhere. Again just another option in case you didn't know.

Understood but when working the TV (I don't use the CV) you can keep your primary mouse movement area to the left 25% of the screen meaning never having to leave that area and being able to access all the controls i.e. minimize, choosing the track focus for automation, clip control and at the same time move over to the inspector and browser. If you work off the right side you still have to come full left to get to the track specific controls.

Understood. I like that approach. May adopt it myself. Thanks for hanging in there and explaining.
