Does bouncing preserve the bit rate?

There's no selection on what bit rate to bounce to. So does bouncing affect the bit rate or not? If not, why then is there a dither option?

I heard somewhere that perhaps bouncing by default is set at 32 bit. Is that true? Can that be changed?

You can set your render bit depth in Preferences audio data. This is where you select what bouncing will be rendered at. Although I like the notion that X1 can't allow the setting of bit depth. What a brain dead application X1 is. Or you could have been wrong.

Its best to keep it at 32bit float. Until you export to 16bit for CD burning. The benefits are stupendous. Hehe, I just said stupendous
