Hello, new here...with an X1 download problem...

Hi everyone, my name's Sean and I'm based in the UK.  I have been using Producer 8 for a couple of years and decided to upgrade to X1 on Christmas Eve.  I have been trying to download these files every day since then to no avail.  I have tried download managers and  different browsers, but each time I try to install the files I get asked to insert disk 9.  My computer has been tied up trying to get these downloads for over 2 weeks now.  I paid £129 for this upgrade and have seen nothing of it yet.  Have written to customer services at Cakewalk twice and they have yet to respond to my emails.  Anyone else getting this level of service?

Sorry to start my time here with a bit of a rant...

Just what files did you download? You should have at least 3. Altogether 7.

Hi John, I have tried downloading all of the files.  The estimated download time from my ISP is 10 hours for each of the 2GB+ files; that's approximately 600 minutes.  The download timeout on the Cakewalk site is 300 minutes.

    Cheers

    Sean.

Are you downloading them all to the same folder on your PC? For example, when you run the Sonar setup program which consists of two separate files (one .exe and one .rar), it extracts everything from the .exe but also the second .rar file too. Obviously it won't extract the .rar file if it can't find it because it's in a different folder than the .exe (or you just haven't downloaded it yet), and maybe that's your 'Insert disk 9' problem?

In other words, make sure all 9 files have been downloaded to the same folder before attempting to install.

    Hi guys

I'm in the same boat as Sean.  I have successfully downloaded 02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part1.exe to Sonar X1 Set-up files-install folder and then when I try to download 02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part2.rar and extract to the same folder I get this diagnostic message from winRAR ........

!WinRAR: Diagnostic message   C:\Users\CONOR\Desktop\02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part2.rar: You need to start extraction from a previous volume to unpack Install\Setup-6.bin

The problem is as far as I can see it there is now way of extracting files from a previous volume because 02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part1.exe is an .exe file not .rar??

I have Setup bin files 1-9 except for Setup-6.bin in my install folder.

I would really appreciate someones help or advice.

    Many thanks

    Conor
