How do you save a screenset to use later?
I named/created a screenset in a project a few days ago but when I create a new project it doesn't show up...what am I overlooking here?

Save a copy of an empty project as a template.
I just created one with Screensets for a 16 track session as a template this weekend.
EDIT: When I say empty, I mean there is no audio or midi data. Just blank tracks.

screensets are project dependent - they get saved w/ a project. Or a template. It would be nice to have global screensets so they would be there when you open any project, and then add to your screensets by number for tweaking a project. So that you could have 1-5, for example, across all projects and then customize 5-6 by project.

Hey do you guys have any suggestions as to where to save templates...I mean where can I put it to where it replaces "normal"?
Probably a dumb question but I haven't saved a template in years.

Well this is strange, I have no such path and can't even find CW templates when searching (Windows 7) for the word "template". I installed X1 on a freshly formatted C drive and used all the default options...what am I missing here? Thanks, Randy EDIT: umm never mind I found it

Check in your Preferences under Folders and see what the path is to your Project Template.

Snap To Grid settings should not be part of ScreenSets. I believe it is just a bug. At least I sincerely hope so as it makes no sense. Anyway, I hope Cakewalk have a good look at how Workspaces are implemented in Cubase. Here is a copy&paste from my suggestions list posted in another thread: I sincerely suggest Cakewalk look at how Workspace Local and Global Layout Presets are handled in Cubase:
- There are Project and Global Workspace Presets.
- Presets can be easily moved from the Local to the Global list and vice versa.
- All Project Presets are saved with the Project. This means that anywhere you open the Project, you have all the Project Workspace Presets available.
- There is an option to automatically copy all existing Global Presets to a Project Preset list when you open an existing Project or create a new Project.
- The combination of the above two means that one has direct access to all one's Workspace Presets Automatically anywhere we open one of our Projects without the users ever having to think about it.
That is what I call proper implementation of a feature.
Having something similar in Sonar would be great. Screensets are new. Please get them right and fully implemented before moving on to other new features. UnderTow

I hope it's not a bug, it's part of my work flow now, as is using different zoom levels etc. A couple of people have requested I post some of my screensets which I'll be doing soon. But two examples both have a TV view on one monitor and PRV on the other. One with snap to at measure, at a fairly low zoom. Another with a different snap to (depending on project) and much higher zoom. I can then switch between the two instantly. Yes I know I could change the snap to and zoom on the fly but in comparison to a keypress to achieve both, it's instant. I plead with Cakewalk for those that don't like screensets bring back the 'so last century' layouts  . But please, please, pretty please, don't mess with the screensets too much - other than an easy way to save and load them individually.

I hope it's not a bug, it's part of my work flow now, as is using different zoom levels etc. Yes, having different Snap settings for different screensets can be very useful.
