Flute Du Jour

Um...
I haven't posted anything in a while so here is my latest doodling.

Let me first preface, before you listen, that I've been wanting to attempt flute for some time now.  I've never really made an honest attempt before.  I'd pick up a friends for about 5mins and then move on.  That's been my experience with flute.

Shortly after Christmas I stopped in at a local Pawn shop and on impluse purchased a student model flute.  It was in BAD shape and bought it dirt cheap.  I just about replaced ALL the pads and made a few tweaks and well . . . . this is what I sound like on flute.

Oh!  The flute part is short as I didn't want to embarrass myself too badly and I'm also debuting me on electric guitar.  PLease be kind, don't beat me up too badly.

**WARNING**  This song is simple and repeats and gets boring real quick.  It will most likely put you to sleep.  SORRY!

Anyway, any feedback is welcome.  No metronome, tempo fluctuates quite a bit and there are some mistakes but o'well.

I honestly don't know if I should be embarrased so in order to protect the innocent I removed all incriminating evidence.

I can't find the song on your page. It's possible that others can't either.

    Hi Guys,
I'll admit after the song dissappeard into the bottom of the second page I began to question  if the song really sucked!

To be quite honest I questioned my motive for even posting the song altogether.  I don't want my music to be egocentric.  I want it to reach out to the listener in some tangible way.  Unfortunately, after an objective evauation, I think this song was more about displaying my abilities than anything else and I found it offensive.  So I removed it!

Maybe it's better that none of you heard it.

Amazing song, you are truly one of the most talented and innovative musicians on this board - this one came across as somewhere between brilliant and completely overwhelming, oh, wait, sorry, that was some other tune.

    Sorry.

(Rich, what is up with you dude?)

You must have accidentially clicked on my Record label's site.  That's where I keep the brilliant stuff.

Mark it's great to hear form you.  I hope all is going well with you.  You need to send me another song to work on.  I'm getting bored at home and I'm chomping at the bit for something to do.

Rich - have your ears been burning lately?  Grant and I have been working on a tune together and I suggested that we get you to lay some sax down on it.

I'm not quite ready for you yet, but if you're interested let me know!

    Reese,
Send it over whenever you're ready.  I'll give it a crack!

@mgh:  I'll give it some thought.  Reheated huh?  Not a bad idea, it's probably more like nuked and overly crispy

I hear what you're saying (about why you removed it.)  But you know what?  I'd be real interested in hearing you play, even if you're just displaying your abilities.  Can I say it here?....I'm truly blessed by hearing talented musicians.  Sure, some of it's egotistical.  That's part and parcel of the lives we lead, unfortunately.  But let it shine.  I really enjoy hearing you play. :-)

And yeah, I wish I had a composition up my sleeve for you to play on.  That would be sweet.  Just working on some other stuff right now.  But I'll keep you in mind.  Wouldn't want you to be bored. :-)
