GUITAR RIG 4 LE WITH THE KONTROL PEDAL

Anyone using the pedal for guitar rig? I have been playing around with guitar rig 4 le and I 'am finding it to sound great! lots of effects. Question? the pedal comes with its own interfase hook up usb 2.0, is that going to interfear with my current interfase? I 'am using the Tascam fw1184, I just want to be sure before I pop out the money for the kontrol pedal. Also is it worth to upgrade to the pro version? I have the pod xt rack but if I can get the pedal to control everything that is the way to go!!! any feed back would be great********** thanks D

I have become a bigger fan of the full GR4 setup lately. I traveled over the holidays and took the Rig Kontrol 3 with the MBP and tried to get all my full pedal sounds from it. And I have to say I was quite happy overall. I like the RK3 pedal with GR4 and I even had the RK3 sending MIDI to Reason to control some loops on and off for songs that I just played through the amp (you can't send MIDI and control GR4 at the same time).

Compared to the GR3LE we got, I HATE the new sorting/browsing feature of GR. It used to be all my patches in GR3 were one bank that I could copy/save/backup in one swoop. Now everything is a separate patch with some sort of stupid tag reference system. Tags are better left for the bad design of the web if you ask me. Who SEARCHES for a patch. If you're SEARCHING for anything in a live setup, you've got bigger problems. With that said, the RK3 pedal let me switch Next and Previous patches without touching the computer and I had the bottom four switches for controlling each pedal independently.

The RK3 is an interface and you can run TRS straight to monitors but because I was also using Reason live I connected the RK3 (USB) to run GR4 and work as its interface but then ran stereo outs to my AudioFire 4's Inputs 3&4. The AF4 was the interface for Reason and also added the GR4 sounds to the mixer. But if I wasn't using Reason I could have easily just run RK3 as the interface. I guess you'd need to decide which interface you wanted to use (my AF4 is always my main interface) but the RK3 doesn't get in the way at all. I'm sure it would be the same on Windows too.

Hey thanks for the input!!! The more that I 'am learing that I can use the Kontrol pedal as a midi controller for guitar rig, but do I need to install it as a vst then? or can I control it as a audio plug in with the kontrol pedal****thanks again D

Standalone, VST, and AU matters not. The RK3 will connect to GR4 regardless of whether its a plugin or standalone.

If you want to control the MIDI its sending for Reason or other apps then you need to DL the free Controller Editor from NI.
