Audiophile 192 - Questions
First...I just built a new i7-2600K (Sandy Bridge Processor) computer with an Intel motherboard. I don't think it has an just regular PCI cards...they are all PCI-E. Will this card work with my system?
Second...what is the difference between these 2 cards? It says one is Hi-def...is that god or bad? It's quite a bit cheaper so I would take that one if it is fine.
"Hi-def" Version:
http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-US41750-Audiophile-Hi-def-Card/dp/B00064ABSG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1294851942&sr=8-1-spell
"Normal" version:
http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-Audiophile-Audio-Card-Digital/dp/B0043MQKZK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1294852307&sr=8-2-spell
Thanks in advance for the help.

the AP192 is PCI, so if you don't have PCI slots on your motherboard then you can't use a PCI soundcard - for internal you'd need PCIe if that's the only slots you have. what manufacturer and model motherboard do you have?
the difference between the two links you show are just descriptive. they're the same card. but don't pay $199 for it - they've reduced the price to $124

This is the motherboard I have...Intel BOXDP67BG:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121474&cm_re=intel_dp67-_-13-121-474-_-Product
Here is the listed slots:
PCI Express 2.0 x16
** 2 (1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 Graphics Slot or switchable to 2x8 PCIe 2.0). Supports ATI Crossfire and NVIDIA SLI ** 3 - PCI Express x1 ** 2 - PCI Slots
Oh wait, it does say it has 2 PCI slots. Is the Audiophile 192 still a good choice even though it's been out for several years?
Thanks Beagle.
Dave

Yes, if it meets your I/O needs then it is a fine card!
