I'd think the reason is that is just about the greatest UKE based song EVER!

Did I miss something there Timidi? Were they dumping his ashes in the ocean? I saw something about him the other day on the internet. I was under the impression he was still alive. Great song, great rendition.

Crg. I don't know about the guy's health or actually who he is. I've heard the tune but never had a face for it. I just ran across the video and like the tune and rendition. I didn't notice the ashes thing but, i read a few comments now that you mention it and it appears that something is wrong (as in death maybe). Too bad if so. He seemed a loving man.

I had to go look. Died in 1997 of respiratory failure. He's got some impressive movie song credits. Mountain Apple Hawaii is his music publisher. I'm suprised I never heard of him before.

Janet Where have I heard this before? Possibly in Meet Mr. Black-the movie. Or in other movies. He's got quite a list of movies that he has performed songs for.

That's Brother IZ as he's refered to in Hawaii ..... My brother-in-law lives in Hawaii and he was bigger that his size there. My wife has a couple of his CD's including the one with that tune on it. He was a master of the Uke!
