SPS-66 crackling noise

Hi,

the SPS-66 doesn't seem to be too popular, there are hardly any threads here in this forum about it. Hopefully somebody from Cakewalk Support cares.

I have Sonar 8.5 installed on a laptop with the SPS-66 connected via a Texas Instruments PCMCIA Firewire card. When I first played the demo song "Guilty" I was pleasantly surprised because it played perfectly without any audible problems. However, already when playing "Low Dastardly" I started to hear some real ugly crackling noise. This is also the case when I just play several notes simultaneously with a single Dimension Pro sound.

I don't experience any drop-outs or timing problems, just crackling.

PLEASE, is there a way to fix this?

Thank you!
