Snapshot automation
I know that I can take snapshots of buttons and faders, but is there possible to take a snapshot of all parameters in my mix with one single command?

Thats one way to do it, and just change version number. But I would like to compare different mixes/changes with a keystroke/button. My old VS-880 harddisk recorder had 6 "scene buttons" that was easy to toggle between. Really nice feature.

There is a way to do automation snapshots of all parameters through a project, but not the way you are asking about. Snapshots in SONAR are a collection of envelope nodes at certain points within a project, but there's no way to save different collections of envelopes (like "scenes") for mix comparisons. Scott Thanks for the reply Scott. So you have to go to every controller and right click to take snapshots? Would have been nice to have a "global" snapshot function....

No, you don't have to do that. You can select all the tracks and then Ctrl+click on the Automation Write button of one of the selected tracks. That will activate all the controls in all the selected tracks. But in order to take a snapshot of everything, you need to set up a key binding. Press P and choose Advanced. Then choose Customization - Key Bindings in the Preferences dialog box. Now create a key binding... I use Shift+F11 because F11 is part of the automation key cluster. Bind Shift+F11 to the Automation Snapshot function in the Function list. Now when you press Shift+F11 it will create a snapshot of all the parameters. Scott -- Scott R. Scott, in your book and as stated above, I should be able to bind snapshot automation to a key. ... that is if I could find 'snapshot automation' in the list of keybinding functions. I can't. Which one of the 'Bind Context' lists is snapshot automation in? There is no 'automation' list. I'm using X1.

disregard that .... its down the Global Bindings list, past the Help section, and number 22 in the Extra Commands sublist. A search or an order function might help.....
