Korg Kronos

I just watched the SOS NAMM video of Korg's new Kronos work station:  http://www.soundonsound.c..ews?NewsID=13520.  This board is incredible.  I can't believe it has all the synth stuff plus acoustic modeling.  It sounds great from what I've heard on the vid and the sustain is sweet.  Sure would love to have one of those.

Kind regards,

The Kronos looks like a great workstation. An alternative to the Yamaha Motif. (Karma is now available for the Motif as well.) Maybe Roland will get off their butt and redesign the Fantom in a similar way....they'll have to if they want a piece of the pro workstation market. They're behind the game now.

I've been seeing some little teases prior to NAMM, but Wow!!!  That's a pretty amazing workstation.  Pretty sweet display on it, and the sample library and modeling or pretty amazing.  My little QS7.1 is feeling a little inadequate right about now.

We have the raw data and images of Kronos, the new Korg workstation. The Japanese came to the house through the window to market a synthesizer with more than 12 GB SSD samples, 9 total synthesis engines, 16 units of effects and KARMA technology.

i heard that it supposed to show up as a VST inside of your DAW..... if so, i'm pre-ordering mine.

It's the same type of implementation as the M3 VSTi editor.
IOW, The VSTi is just a virtual controller for the hardware... not an actual synth.

Kronos is a nice hardware instrument...
That said, as someone who plays out using some of the best soft-synths, I don't see/hear anything that makes me excited enough to spend $3500.
ie: I already have the capability to stream advanced sample libraries from SSD.
