Playback problems

Working on my first project with Music Creator LE. I have successfully recorded guitar track 1 through USB connector.  I've tried to listen to the playback and record a solo track as track 2 but when the guitar is connected to my computer, I can't hear any playback.   Actually, when ever the guitar is connected I can't hear any sound from my computer at all.
Any tips?  Thanks!

    Addition:
When I disconnect my guitar, the audio playback works with both tracks.

Input echo must be enabled to hear what's being recorded.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Hi Kalle, Thanks for you assistance.  I tried to enable the input echo button on the recorded track.  As soon as I plug my guitar in, either before or during the playback, the audio automatically stops even though the time bar is still running.  Could there be an issue with my computer or sound card that won't support recording and playback at the same time?  Or maybe a setting for input / output that is incorrect?
    Thanks again,

yes, there could be a problem with your soundcard not supporting full duplex (simultaneous playback and recording), but that's not likely the problem.

when you say you successfully recorded your guitar thru usb - exactly what are you doing there?  did you get MC5LE with a usb device?  if so, please describe it or give us the manufacturer and model name/number.
