8.5.3 crashing with Melodyne - Help Appreciated

Hi There,

I'm running a stable Sonar 8.5.3 64 bit on I7 machine Win 7 64 bit. Melodyne editor plugin (1.2 64 bit) loads ok and works exactly as it should but crashes randomly whilst I'm editing blobs etc. Seems there is no pattern to it, get different error messages or just hangs. Between crashes its working as it should. I was hoping everything would be stable now its all 64 bit compatible. It sometimes just needs a Sonar re-start others a complete re-boot. This will happen say up to 10 times if I was tidying up a vocal on a 3 min song and its driving me nuts.

Any ideas out there with you clever guys. ? I love Melodyne and what it can do, but this is really frustrating and unusable.

help really appreciated from cold, windy and damp UK

    Dude,

I have the same exact problem. Except, I have Assistant. Been trying to fix it for weeks.

Try setting your Rec Buffer to 1028. It helps a little. Other than that, contact Melodyne. Quite a few people are having the same problems.

Yes, I've got this now.  Upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit, reinstalled Sonar 8.5 64 bit.  Paid out £112 to get Editor as my old Plugin wouldn't work in the new environment.  Result: I used to use Melodyne without a single glitch now the bastards have stung me for £112 for a piece of cr*p that doesn't work.  They need to get their bearded asses out of that smug lab they're always in and pay attention to the business side of things.
