Question About Noise Scrubbing in Sonar 8 PE

Hello--

It's been awhile since I've posted here--maybe that's a good thing because recording has been going smoothly--until now.

I have a mono spoken word audio track where people were making noise in the background periodically. I can easily remove the noise between the words being spoken, but wondered if SONAR 8 PE contains any tools I can use to remove at least some of the sounds that are audible while the performer is speaking?

The quality of the recording is good. The noises are like someone tapping the table or rocking in a squeaky chair. I also don't have a lot of time -- of course. It needs to be done by 1:30 this afternoon--ready or not.

Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks,

Stephen Davis

You could try the Sonitus: Gate. Might help a bit.

I'm afraid that other that hand editing using EQ on each spot you will have trouble automating any quick fix.

I posted a similar question back a bit as I had a live choir performance and fan noise from robotic lighting. Sonar does not come with any noise removal plugs. A few suggestions were made and the best tool seemed to be Izotope sorry can't remember the exact name but it's price was beyond my grasp.
I tried a few free downloads but nothing seemed to be able to do what I thought was a simple seek and destroy of a target frequency.
I would still like to clean up these tracks. anyone wants to hear what I'm talking about they are here- song 02 is real bad.

Yea, thanks guys. I ended up only having time to remove the noise between signals. We ended up buying Izotopes RX2 for the next round. This was the type of tool I was looking for in SONAR, but it's not there.

    Thanks all!
