Mashine and X1 out of sync when looping

I have just started noticing that after 8 or so cycles of a 4 bar loop with drum sequencing in Maschine and soft synth midi in Sonar, the sync is shot. I have to stop and restart to the drums back in time after they start to drift behind. This only happens in looping, not when playing straight through.

I just discovered that keeping Sonars metronome ON solves the problem. I have never noticed this issue before. Is it reproduceable for any of you Maschine owners, are there some MIDI setting I am overlooking?

Thanks.

I use Maschine a LOT.  It happens sometimes but not always.

    So let me ask:

Are you using any patterns in Maschine when this happens?
    or
Do you record the parts into a MIDI track in Sonar?

I find it happens more often when I have pattern(s) in Maschine so both Sonar _and_ Maschine are looping at that point.

I'm wondering if this is what you're seeing?

PS - it happens in 8.5.3 as well.

PPS - the Germans will be mad you don't spell Maschine properly lol

BA, yeah its when the drums are sequenced inside maschine. metronome is a 'fix' but annoying.

Just to be perfectly clear - you mean that there is a pattern (or patterns) inside maschine as opposed to a blank pattern - and it's playing back that pattern while you're looping.

    Is this correct?

I ask because I want to bring it up to the NI tech support and CW support to figure out who's doing what to whom.  But I suspect it may be an NI issue at this point.

In the meanwhile - a possible "workaround" is to send the metronome to a BUS then shut the bus off (mute it).

Unmute it when you need it.

Well, try the "bus" workaround if that helps.

I'll send a msg to NI about this.

You can report it to CW, ok?
