If you 're gonna post a song here in the forum for people to listen to, please make it a full length song not a 30 second snippit.

There's no way to critique it or even get a good feel for the song in that short time span.

I had a window pop up that required a sign up to an email list to hear the entire song.... no thanks

That happened on  2 of the songs on your page.

Amazing mix and production Reginald. I like the rain too :-) (in Doraville/Dunwoody)

The acoustic solo sounds awesome, can you share any info about the instrument and your signal chain? Your voice and hers are "perfect" together...

Everything about this is just perfect, to my ears.

    Beautiful song, performances and mix/production.

I appreciate the compliment, thank you.

Off the top of my head, my guitarist uses a Taylor 914 and/or a Gibson J200 (I think) with a DPA clip-on going to my E-MU 1616m.  Eq'ing was done with the Neve 1073 and compressed with the Fairchild 670 on the UAD-2.  I may have run it through the Cooper Time Cube too, can't remember off hand.

Sweet :-) I had a Taylor 614 CE, and I sold it when I played my Goodall :-) But whatever that rig is, sounds "really really good..." Too bad about the Falcons :-( Maybe next year...

Ahh yes much better. Nice song.

The song is good and the production is top notch.

On my speakers... it might be the conversion process to MP3... the BGV sound sort of hollow..... almost phasey.... barely perceptable but there.

The "chorus" sounds like a verse. When it started, it was like going into another verse. The melody line was almost identical to the verse before it.   A chorus should lift the music, the levels, the energy to a higher level, using a different chord progression and a different melody sung higher on the musical scale.

This chorus didn't do that, and the first time through it I felt that it was actually a second verse...then I thought a pre-chorus especially when the word STRONG finished on an up note..... that was the perfect place to bring the chorus..... I think you should consider a stronger chorus...one the listener is anticipating and that the song delivers on.

If I hadn't been able to read the words I would never have guessed that the chorus was where it was indicated. I would have though it was a verse/bridge song with no chorus.

All in all, this is a good song. but it really isn't finished.

    Just my opinion.

    I enjoyed it regardless.

Thanks man.  The more and more I mix/master and really dig into sound, the more I hate mp3's.  I've recently mastered a project and when converted to mp3 it took so much away for the sake of convenience/size.  I say everyone get dsl/cable and lets start trading wavs.

As far as your opinion, it's cool.  I appreciate it.  I'm just glad you took the time to listen.  In art, just like life, you'll never please everyone.

Only listening on laptop, but as far as I can tell this mix is excellent - really nice vibe. Reminded me if the Lighthouse Family in parts - don't know if that counts as good or bad to you, but I quite liked some of their earlier work.

The only crit is when the lead vocals seem really mono down the middle, no space on the sides. I would think about applying some trick/effect to widen them out.

Bass could come up a hair.

That lead guitar sounds terrific, Reg.
