Annie's Song

My own (read deranged) instrumental version of John Denver's magnificent track...!!!

I've been suffering from severe depression for a while, so the music kind of dried up....This was on the starting blocks, just around the time it all started to go t*ts-up for me....! Man, it's dark down there....

There are issues, but it's got some meaning to me as well as being one of my all time favourite songs.

I hope you enjoy..... Peace.

Well, Peter, that was ........deranged, like you said. Man, it starts out bleak. You can hear the freezing wind howling over snow covered mountain peaks and down into those dark canyons. I  like the way it picks up around 1:40 and becomes a rocker. I sure don't hear much of John Denver in it, but that is not disappointing. I'm all for drastically rearranging covers. Anyway, I liked it.
    Mark

and I hope things take a turn for the better for you so you can snap out of it. Play along with some Beatles CDs. That always cheers me up.

    Haha..Cheers Mark...!

I always felt that Annies Song had a darker underbelly about lost love and searching endlessly to find it again, hence the "blacker" soul to this track.  The lyrics "you fill up my sense like a night in the forest, like a mountain in springtime, like a walk in the rain; like a storm in the desert, like a misty blue ocean, you fill up my sense, come fill them again" seem to suggest deep longing to me...

The middle section is more of a delve into the feeling of the perprtual hunt to seek happiness again.

    Thanks very much. Pete
