DPC Latency on my DAW

What could be causing this regular spike when I run the DPC latency checker?

I can post pics of my task manager and more details if it helps.

Cheers

There is no easy solution as to what...

You need to go into device manager and 'disable' devices one at a time. Yes, it can be a pain specially when disabling a device only to later find DPC showing spikes again later on. (Note: Careful what you disable! Disabling your mouse and/or keyboard will leave you in tears as you stare at the screen but can not change a thing!)

Most times it'll be something like: Networking (LAN, WiFi, BlueTooth) or On-board sound.

As has been mentioned, WiFi is notorious for causing high DPC latency.
Any poorly behaved driver can cause DPC latency spikes.

As was mentioned, you'll need to go into DeviceManager... and chase down the culprit.

BTW, Software based OC and speedcontrol apps (ie: from the motherboard manufacturer) can sometimes cause DPC latency spikes if the app is left open/running.

    Thanks for the replies.

I have an Intel mobo that in the bios power window there is an option for C2 State-enable or disable. It is currently enabled. I think this means that the 2 cores of the cpu will run independently of each other thus saving power.
Maybe I should disable C2 State as my PC is a desktop that does not need to conserve power.

    Cheers

Ok I moved my Mia Midi audio card to another Pci slot.

It was sharing the slot with 2x universal usb controllers.

It is now not sharing and on its own.

Sonar now works as well as it always had been. Over 8 hours of work and not one audio glitch. Brilliant!

The DPC checker still shows a few spikes when it is executed though not as bad and no regular spikes.

I suspect the hard drive is slowing down and the cause of the spikes.

    Cheers.
