Import Audio is extremely noisy

I can't figure out what's wrong!  When I import audio it gets messed up and playback is very noisy.  This is the case with both my interface and direct soundcard.  Audio recorded in Sonar is fine, it's just imported audio.
Those same audio files work fine in Audacity and Windows Media Player, so it is definitely not a problem with the audio.  It happens with both WAV and MP3 files.


My global settings for import are set to change the imported audio to 32bit (I've tried both that and original).

Any help would be VERY appreciated

    Welcome to the forum!

    It would be good to know more about your gear and setup to be able to answer better

    You don't tell what your interface is, nor any other info, but at least make sure that your internal soundcard (Realtek or something) is not checked in the Options >Audio, and that your interface is checked. Also dl the newest ASIO drivers for you interface.

    Can you elaborate on what you mean by "messed up" and "noisy"? Importing a file should not change it other than to convert the sample rate and bit depth to match your project settings. What happens if you import one of your "good" files that you recorded in SONAR? Doe it get "messed up" too?


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
