Haven't seen a problem here. Make sure the "Save Changes for Next Session" box is checked, and of course you have to click the Bind button after selecting the key and the function, and OK out of the dialog.

yeah it was me hitting apply rather than ok cheers mate Hmmm... if that's true, that would be a bug, The only difference between Apply and OK should be that Apply leaves the dialog open. I'll have to check that. EDIT: I did a quick check, and Apply seemed to work okay, but having keybindings as part of Preferences is new, and there have been other issues with preferences not sticking (e.g. Metronome output routing). The Apply button is actually part of Preferences; there wasn't one in the keybinding dialog for previous releases.

I've noticed that # doesn't work on my keyboard as a binding and ~ (which is shift+#) is shown as a normal key in the list.

Is this a U.S. standard keyboard? # is Shift+3 and ~ is shift+` (accent) in my world. I haven't tried to bind # to anything, but accent and tilda are bound to Audio Engine toggle and peak marker reset. The list of "Key"s (maybe it should say "Symbol") you can bind doesn't include the Shift required to get it on a standard keyboard.

Okay. I just checked keyboard layouts here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout#United_Kingdom And I see that what you're saying is that # is not even available as a keybinding in SONAR. I never noticed before, but it appears at a glance that none of the characters you get by Shifting the number keys is bindable. On a US keyboard, from 1 to 0 these are: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( )

Yeah but it means I have a perfectly good key that can't bind to anything, nothing happens. Same in 8.5 as well. Thought they would have got on to this by now.
