Disappearing Vertical Meters - Bug
I have got two different projects with vertical meters set up in the Track Pane. In Project A when I grab the right border and drag it left to narrow the Track pane the vertical meters take precedence over other widgets as if they are on a higher layer or plane and the meters cover what is under it. . On Project B, when I grab the right border and drag it to the left, the vertical meters disappear as soon as they encounter the edge of any widget. These projects are using the same Track Control preset. I'm looking at them and all of the widgets are in the same place when you increase the width of the Track pane to the point were all controls show. This has got me scratching my head as to why this is happening.

I never noticed that before. I just tried i in one of my projects, moving left, the Meters along with the Layer and Strip size arrows take precedence over everything else. I'll keep an eye on this in other projects.

It's got to be a bug. I just found one project where only one track would make the vertical meters disappear. Here it is in living color. Another Bug found by the Cakewalk Forum Betatester team. EDIT: Just noticed that the widgets are different too. Maybe this is a feature. You can set up individual tracks differently.

Two SONAR crashes while investigating this problem. Betatesters (you know who you are and I know you are watching) take note please and log it in the Bug queue. I'm a paying customer and I don't do paperwork for free.

Well, now the project that was working the way I expected it to has developed the bug in two tracks and their meters disappear when other tracks show their meters. EDIT: I noticed in a screenshot of the project in another thread that the project had the disappearing meters in it and I had not noticed it. I've had 3 crashes and I haven't even turned the audio playback on. Twice some message about a Cakewalk PCS something or another. I lose the screen before I can write it down.

That screen shot is some weird behavior.

Two questions Dave: Does this still happen if you reset the default control order? (Right click a track header, it's down the bottom) Where is your FX bin? I can still see my FX bin all the way until the layers icon touches the track name. You have a gap. (I have a vague memory of being able to have a horizontal FX bin, but couldn't find that option in the manual). Cheers, Peter. EDIT: p.s. Never mind Question 2 - I just realised some track control options (such as I/O) don't have it.

I perceive what is happening signal chain wise in a top down fashion. My Track Control presets are customized from stock layouts in a lot of cases. They anticipate and show me only what I think I will need as I am working on a project. I might experiment and reset the control order as you suggest to see what happens although I'm afraid it will reset to the behavior that I don't want.

As a side project, I wish someone would see if they get any crashes from a lot of modification of control order and screensets to see if you get any crashes. In my case, these were largely new more or less empty projects so other than Superior drummer or EZdrummer there was not any load on the system. Matter of fact, I never even ran the playback in most cases.

Dave when you say control order do you mean the order of the modules on the control bar? If you do, I haven't changed mine in forever but moved them around a lot in the beginning to suit my needs with no crashing. Use screen sets all the time with no crashing - at all - ever. I get some wonky behavior with SS but never a crash while changing them HTH
