A nice metal song about the zombie apocalypse

Here is a tune brought to you by Straight Jacket Sunday. This is a project I started with a couple friends. I'm still working on the mixes. Let me know if you like and what you think.

Just to note, "taking lives and eating brains" is what I'm saying at one point in case you wonder and start laughing.

really enjoyed this tune. an interesting fusion of different styles, from Soundgarden to Ozzy via Crowbar and even Exhorder. Mix is spot on, clear, loud, excellent sounding guitars. ep, you've done a great job here guys!

Vocals sound like they're on top of the mix, needs to drop maybe 2 or 3db. They're very dynamic as well, so maybe more compression will even them out. You might also look at the low end, say 400hz on down, and see if you can make some cuts, or just roll it off completely at some point. I can distinctly hear the vocal reverb sometimes, so you might consider decreasing the amount of reverb but keeping the same decay. Alternatively, you could try decreasing the high freq's in the current reverb output.

The rest of the mix is great though. Guitar tone is excellent. If you keep the vocal EQ as-is, the guitars will need more presence. They're just not cutting through when the vocals kick in. But I would recommend working the vocal track to fit the mix and keeping the guitar tone as-is.

Have to agree about the guitar tone...Some of the best I have heard. Love the pinch harmonics!

    Like the vocals too.

Very clean recording for this genre whch is NOT easy to do.  Very nice production!  mix stands on its own.

I can't be too critical...I am listening on ear buds and I am liking what I hear!

I cut the highs on the reverb around 3khz so the reverb sounds nice and dark and doesn't interfere too much. I actually revisited this tune yesterday and did a lot of work on it. I just need to do more work on the vocal mixing. I did address the 300hz to 700hz area too when I revisited it. I still need to tighten the below 150hz area though. Thanks for the feedback folks.
