x1/live 8 rewire issue

i am running a brand new pc (my first dedicated, non-internet connected machine). sonar runs great exept for the same little bugs everyone knows about (none of these stop my show). all my other apps run great. except...

i liked to run ableton live 8 as rewire slave to sonar 8.5's master.
i could point a midi track in sonar to a midi track in live by setting that track's output to live 8 and setting the channel to one of the live 8 tracks displayed.

this ALWAYS crashes my sonar x1. the only difference between incidents is  sometimes i get to try to select a live 8 track and sometimes it crashes
as soon as i mouse the channel button.

 any thoughts?

i always thought that rewire was a 32 bit application only

3.5 Ghz AMD 6-Core/16 gigs RAM, Roland Quad-Capture, Win 10, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Komplete 10, z3ta+, Z3TA+ 2, Rapture, Maschine 2.7 (MKI & Jam), Melodyne 4 Studio, Ozone 4, Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2, Schecter Damien Elite, Fender Sonoran w/TronicalTune Plus installed, etc

If it's reproducible submit a bug report along with a copy of the project(s) it happens on.

    Rewire could use some TLC.

    Incidentally so is Pro-tools 9.

If you use Rewire you install 32 bit Sonar on your 64 bit system.

    Easy.

As a counter to famous Freddie I'd say.

64 bit, it doesn't matter as much as the functionality you require.

There are many useful tools still solely available to the 32 bit version of Sonar, whereas the only advantage to running 64bit really is the available memory, but then only if you actually have over 3mb.

It's a big plus in Sonar's favour that you can have both versions installed and cover all the bases.

     thanks for the repilies, folks.
messing around some more i discovered that i can get it to work, depending on what patches i have loaded into live 8. just not with any of the patches i want to use. i now think this may be live 8's problem, not sonar's.
     thanks again people.
