I used to have the music to that, but not sure I do anymore.  I'll see if I can find it.

If you know where to find it online, that would be sweet. :-)

Hi janet I will see if I can dig it out on line :)

I have a really good Idea for what I would like to do with it but I just need the Piano part the same as masson williams guitar part if that makes sence.

I am not sure if figureing out the tempo the same would be a problem or not to work with a click.....

I will see what I can dig up for sheet music

I haven't found mine so far. :(  I know it was very similar to the guitar part, although obviously not strummed. :-)

Yeah, I'd want the tempo and I'd play to a click track.

Don't buy anything online until you let me see it.  The couple I've found are easy versions.

I'm so sad I can't find my music. :(  I've had it for years and it's so fun to play.  I never dreamed anyone would ever need it.

In the music store, ask for the advanced version.  It's the one most likely closest to what he really played.

Is it written so a piano player could read it?

Well it's in treble clef. I can record any of the parts for deciphering. Hey this could turn into a colab! Piano (Janet), acoustic(me) and electric(Norrie).

Maybe I'm missing something but this is really simple if you've got the music - just enter the dots into Staff View as they appear on the page(quickest way is via Step Record (which has a bug in X1 but not 8.5)) and choose your preferred piano sound for playback.  Even if you're not that comfortable with notation it'll work if you follow the dots - then you can go to PRV for adjustments.  Then tweak tempo, register, add FX etc as required.   That should take a matter of minutes for the basic input.

True.  Although it would be hard to make it sound like someone actually played it.  Same as any other instrument I suppose.  Anyway, we got it taken care of and he's happy.  And it was fun. :-)

Yeah but its pretty cool having people play an arrangement too don't you think?

I'm betting the trio of Janet, Bill and Norrie is going to sound much more exciting than a piece entered in staff view.

If you haven't heard any of these 3 play their music then yes you are missing something!  Something pretty significant too.

The remedy to that is to pop over to the 'Songs' forum and listen to the wide range of talent over there.

Yeah just heard some - very nice playing and sound and absolutely no contest as against entering MIDI.

But if you can't get such effective 'session guys' a lot can be done to pull the times and velocities around in Step Sequencer to humanise step-entered MIDI stuff.

Combo, you're absolutely right.  I use midi for everything.  If I could use it for vocals, I'd do that too.  LOL  Jon (and everyone else for that matter) knows my drums aren't real and Scott knows my strings aren't real, and Rich knows my sax isn't real, etc., etc., etc.  Heck, I had to edit the piano part for Classical Gas cause I didn't have time to learn to play it perfectly right then.  I imagine someone actually could enter all the notes and then edit the velocities to make it sound real.  We all do what we have to do with what we've got. :-)
