Johnstown, Pennsylvania here...and we got lucky. All of this wave passed us by, but more expected Saturday and I think next Tuesday. Truth is, this has got to stop. I can not take it much longer. Sorry 'bout that...Expecially after promising myself I was gonna control my outbreaks... I'll try harder Later Albert

I'm in texas. Monday night / Tuesday morning it rained and the temperatures dropped below freezing, so the rain turned to ice and the temps have not been above freezing since then. Last night/this morning it snowed between 4-6" across the DFW area. So the ice that is still on the roads is now covered with snow so you can't see where the ice is. luckily after lunch it has started to melt off some.

gamblerschoice Funny how that global warming thing works out, so that when the "warming" thing failed, the "change" thing took over, until we get to "chaos" now. At the same time, gas prices sky rocket, no media coverage, power plants are denied applications, no media coverage, drilling stops in the gulf, Alaska and anywhere on or offshore in the U.S., rolling blackouts in Texas while we buy electricity from Mexico, no media coverage, the adninistration found in contempt of court orders, no media coverage....the only thing a newspaper is good for today is a makeshift blanket....don't burn it for heat, the EPA will take you away... Later Albert And...... The CHB release a new song, no media coverage. Follow the link in my sig an call your local newspaper.

It looked like we were going to have an icy day here. Freezing rain overnight, GFK was a giant skating rink this morning. But by 2pm, it was almost 40 degrees and the ice coating was gone. Probably snow tomorrow and Sunday. Oy...

I finally got to the highway today. (about a mile up a winding road). A road-grader, a snow plow AND a sand truck (or whatever they're called) came thru today---3 days after we got dumped with about 18" of snow. Sure glad I didn't have to go anywhere before today. They're predicting more snow tonight, then more Sunday-Wednesday. I sure hope they're wrong.

The concession road I'm on was only just plowed out today...of course, ONLY after I plowed out our driveway... backyard total amount now stands at 34"....it's highest was last December when it reached 69"

69"??!! I can't even imagine. I can't remember a blizzard like this since '71. After 3 days, my dad and brother and I finally walked the 3 1/2 miles to town cause we were bored and basically had borrowed all the food from the neighbors we felt we could. Anyway, as I was trudging thru 18" deep snow yesterday I thought of that trip. I actually didn't mind it too much when I was 11, but it would kill my knees these days. :-)

Yeah, crazy day here, for sure. The snow this morning was actually a refreshing change. At least you can get traction in snow. The ice the past few days has been nerve wracking. On the North side of Forth Worth, most of the streets are narrow, with lots of hills, and have large hungry ditches on either side. This morning was a proper whiteout, flat light, and it was hard to tell where the road even was. But it was relatively warmer, and I could actually feel my hands. it was a welcome change.
