Speaking of tuning your drums...
Some of the best worst drumming I've seen in years. My cousin just sent the link.... hmmmmm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWki-Jac8H0 I had to explain that I'm more of a Charlie Watts fan myself. But hey, this guy can tune a kit for sure!

Berklee courses should come with a health warning... Impressive though, and some really good tuning for sure.

Holy crap.... neat concept & I realize the metal drummers of the world probably get wood watcing that video. In some parts his drum line fits really well (minus all the unnessesary double bass) then in others he is way to busy to fit the music (around the 2 min mark) Thanks for the link Mike!

I have a much simpler approach to tuning my drums. I just tune them all to Am. Now they sound good with anything. I got the tip from someone right here in the CH too. Mike

chefmike8888 I have a much simpler approach to tuning my drums. I just tune them all to Am. How do you tune a drum to "A minor?" Or are you saying you tune each drum to A, C, or E? If so, I can see how this might sound good with anything. A minor is the relative minor to the C major scale. C major is a very popular scale in church, rock, blues, and even the slot machines in the casinos! Or so I'm told.

I'm afraid you'll have to go back a few months and read every post to catch up. The gist of it is Bapu only knows how to play the Am note on his bass.

I'm taking credit for having taught him how to play that note. Although I think Mooch has it printed on his resume that he did.

Yes, I aplogogize... my mistake.... It's a curriculum vitae. I'm done thinking about that drummer. After reading my long winded reply about drummers, music and empathy for the song, my Cousin went off to listen to Keith Moon and Gene Krupa.... mission accomplished!!!!

I'm done thinking about that drummer. Are you kidding, I'm still getting my head around how much gravitas those cute, slick drumstick twirls added to the piece. Even if you couldn't hear them they are undeniably there. I'm sure ol' Lud' Beethoven would have appreciated the visual cues.

Good point. A good stick twirl in true stereo can take a music video to the next level.
