UA-1G crashes Win 7

I have the latest updates for the UA-1G and the recommended version of Audacity. I use Audacity to record a song, then try to record a second one when the crash occurs. This doesn't happen when I use another brand digitizer to record music, only the UA-1G. Any ideas how to make Cakewalks UA- 1G play nice with Win 7?

Thanks
Bart

I've been using my UA-1G with Win 7 for several months with no problems. I suspect that the sample rate on the UA-1G doesn't match the Audacity project sample rate. When this happens with Sonar it will change the project rate to the rate set on the UA-1G. Not sure what Audacity does. So, the first thing to rule out would be any conflict between the two devices over the sample rate. If you make any changes to the UA-1G you will have to unplug it and then plug it back in for the changes to take effect.

    Chappel,

Thanks for the ideas, but it didn't help.

I just recorded several tracks, one after another, with Audacity and my UA-1G at 48 kHz and everything recorded and played back fine. You aren't using 96 kHz, are you?

Is the advanced driver switch set to ON?

    Yes.

Now it crashes just plugging in the USB cable from the UA-1G

Weird. All I can suggest is to double check that you're using the correct driver for your operating system.

I turned the advanced driver switch to off. So far, so good. I hope that solves the problem......

I went to Cakewalks home page and got the one that they said would work with Win 7 in 64 bit.
