Moving automation ?

I'm working on something that I noticed I could of use a few more bar in the beginning. So I selected all,  and drag everything which worked fine except the automation that was written in the bus lane,  I was ok with it as long as I can copy the automation in another step and drag it , but when I dragged everything over all the bus automation was erased completely ..  Is there a work around? I tried opening another saved number of the track to copy the automation onto that while having two projects open, That resulted in a  run time error crash . There's gotta be an easy way ..or is that how it is
 Thanks John

THere is a pretty serious Bus automation bug where the data gets deleted, as you've discovered, via a copy/paste operation -- and obviously other operations now too.

It's one reason I can't use X1 until they fix some of these bugs.

This is a bug that's been around for a while though, it definitely exists in 8.5.  It's a real PITA.

The question is -- will it be fixed in X1B.

cool found a way. I just have to a insert measure at 1.0.0.0 for as many times I want, Of course you have to select all, and the automation did follow  ...
To do this go to the tab thats says projects , scroll down you'll see the option there. just make sure you select all , and all your automation will follow.

It's great you found a workaround, but it's kind of a strange way for a DAW 2.0 host to manage it ;)

If that's true, it's kind of a bad deal.   Data being 'deleted' should be WAY up high on a fix list.

For what just happen to me is not a big deal I found an easy way to do it in fact probably the correct way to insert blank measures , Although the selecting all and dragging shouldn't erase all your bus automation, thats an issue that needs to be looked into because I actually wasted hrs working and saving as I go along on a track that lost all my bus automation which I did not know until several hours/saves later,  Now I have to go back and re-do the work , Oh well A learning experience.  I now know how to insert blank measures..
