uhhh...where's the options menu?

I've been through every ctrl f in the pdf manual searching for "options menu"...it tells you to go to the options menu for this or that but not where to find the option menu.
I also searched the forum and no one has aked where the options menu is so I'll probably feel like an idiot when someone tells me (won't be the 1st time though).
So please tell me where the hell this options menu is.
Thanks,
Randy

    Hi Randy,

For most Preferences, go to Edit > Preferences.

But I think what you're looking for is the Track View Options menu - look at the menu bar for the Track View which is directly above the Track Headers and directly below the Control Bar.

The Console View also has its own Options menu.

    I hope that helps!

    You mean the options window?

    Push "P"

If that is not what you mean then sorry for pointing you in the wrong direction...

No I know about the keyboard shortcut for prefs but the manual states "from the options menu, choose preferences and select allow ctrl + drag cursor style scrub over events on the general tab "
I don't see this in the prefs...am I blind today or just dumb?

    Hi Randy,

    Good find!
That's a bug in the Help - leftover from 8.5.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

To Scrub in X1, press "J".  To get out of Scrub-mode, switch back to any other tool by:
    • Clicking its icon in the Control Bar
    • Press your middle-mouse button to open the HUD, then select the tool there
    • Press F5-F10

Anyone have any ideas as to why I don't get sound when scrubbing?

you sometimes need to scrub a little then go back a bit..then scrub forward again..remember to be in the track of choice...i believe if you hit control while doing this...you can scrub multiple tracks at the same time.i think? (sorry)

I got it to work for a few seconds trying your suggestion but as soon as I clicked outside of PRV I couldn't get sound any more (after giving PRV focus again and scrubbing around and then going back some etc). However I can see the meters respond...weird?

I believe X1 Scrub only works on selected tracks.

Thanks Mike but I did select them (in PRV and TV)...it just worked again shortly and then I selected another track in PRV, made sure it was selected in PRV and nothing (but the meter showed activity).
I selected the same track in TV and nothing.
I just went back to X1 to make sure I wasn't doing something stupid and hear a note from that track (without doing anything) and then it worked fine. Probably user error  somehow (I must be causing it to lose focus but I don't understand why there is no sound when the meter registers) but I'll report back if I can determine what the difference is.
    Thanks guys,
    Randy

EDIT: It seems after it loses focus I just have to click in the PRV and hit play and then it scrubs as expected...thanks again
