A song I did a couple Years ago...

Here is one I did a couple years ago.  Lay Low for now is ALL digital audio.  There are no MIDI tracks at all.  All Insruments were played and recorded...

Let me know what you think!

I think it's time to record a new song Pat! A couple of years is too long... That guitar sounds a little distorted and I'm not a big fan of the tone/sound of it. I like the bass, good job holding down the groove for the drummer played live. The guitar needs some compression/limiting too, something to tame the dynamics. From a spectrum perspective, the single acoustic with the bass and drums feels a little empty. I think from a production/sound scape perspective, this is crying out for either an electric played up an octave, or maybe some keys and a nice pad underneath. I like the song.

Yeah, the guitar was one of those cheap guitars with the round plastic back...Brought it in direct too...I don't do this anymore.  It sounds thin.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I can hear keys in there too.

Wasn't my song, the guitar player owns it...I just recorded what he wanted.

My son helped with the drums.  We both did the shakers at the beginning.

    Thanks for the feedback!

well you and your boy did an excellent job on the drums, I'm not referencing the recording of them, but the performance. I'm impressed by someone who can hold down a groove like that in real time :-) I'm a midi wuss like most folks. NOW RECORD A NEW ONE!

I didn't know you could record a song without midi.  LOL

Nice job here.  I like the song.  And I'm lovin' that bass too.

Yeah the bass player was grooving.  I plan on doing some new stuff soon!  I took a couple years off to refresh myself (and do some live sound recording.  Mostly cover bands.)

Thanks for all the kind words and suggesttions!
