"Pachelbel Beethoven Overdrive" neo-classical rock guitar instrumental by Morenoise remix

Hi All, this piece started as a test to see what my new laptop can handle in terms of vst's and plugins. Turned out into a fun piece. Have a listen if you want : http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10245766

As I don't have a electric guitar at the moment, all guitars and bass is my nylonstring acoustic-electric through amplitube.

Greetings, Rik

P.S. Thanks Johan for the inspiration.

I love this rendition!  :-)  Love the drum beats. Maybe they could be brought up some.  I thought maybe there are a couple of places where the guitar is a tiny bit ahead of the beat, but that's just a nit-pick.  This is great and I totally love it.  :-)

You need to give that acoustic a rest Rik. You're going to wear out the frets doing all your tracks with it. :)

This sounds great, especially for just using an acoustic. With these new guitar/amp modeling plugins it doesn't matter much any more what you feed in to them.

I used to do the bass guitar thing with the low E on my strat. All of the Christmas songs I posted this Christmas had the bass done with the low E on my strat with the exception of one that I used TTS-1 on. ;)

HI bub, thanks for listening, got my track-count up to six whole tracks  and I used to think a 4-track cassette recorder was overkill.

Hi Janet, you do like your drums, don't you. There are two tracks of drums in this and it's still not enough . The main "theme"was supposed to be on the beat , followed by a looser syncopated section. If I'm playing ahead of the beat I consider that a great compliment, I usually miss the beat by a mile .

When I finally started compressing my drums, it seemed to make a big difference.  And yes, I'm rarely on the beat either...I have to do a lot of midi editing.

But I still think this is a great piece. :-)

Rik, I really enjoyed this piece.  That you did this with just one gut string guitar is really amazing... quite a feat.  Nice job.

I play my nylon string a LOT because even acoustically, it sounds electric, and electrified it can do anything, although it's harder to shred on a classical neck.

You may need to roll off some of the lower fequency, say from 60hz or so, I'm getting some sub bass rumble, the recording sound pretty clear so I think rolling the bottom end off might brighten it a bit.

A little harmonic distortion on the effect, mayb roll the guitar volume off a little more.

Nice melodic guitar playing, I can tell you had fun playing this... because I sure would.  Nice recording.

Hi Phil , thanks for listening, I've just got only one guitar with a pick-up in it , so the poor thing has to play every thing .

Hi Daryl, thanks for listening and useful comments. I'm mixing on headphones and find it difficult to judge the amount of bass, probably overdid(?)  it. The harmonic distortion is from playing a bit to enthousiasticly and overloading the input, so now I know what that pretty red led is for.

I listened last night, but I got distracted, and didn't leave a comment.
This version is much looser. Sounds more like you are playing it the way you want to, rather how you think you should. I like that.
I personally can't stand the feel of nylon strings under my fingers, but you certainly sound comfortable playing them.
I might like to hear some variation on the drum track, to follow the vibe you are setting down with the guitar. That's something I need to work on as well, so it's a somewhat introspective nit.
    All in all, nicely done.

Hi Robert , thanks for listening twice ! You are right about the drum track, it's just a preset pattern copied. "Sounds more like you are playing it the way you want to, rather how you think you should. I like that."- exactly, thanks for noticing.

Bloomin' marvellous. I love the Cannon and I've heard a few rocked up variations on it over the years. This one is great.

Only listened on laptop speakers but it sounded well put together as well as being fun to listen to.

    Cheers,
    Terry.

    Hi Mark, thanks for listening.

Hi Janet, glad you like it. Just compression and eq on the drums. Played a new lead guitar part, sounds better if I'm not trying to play on the beat .

    Hi Rik,

All done on the nylon string!!! haha...that's wild!

Sounds great, man.  Segovia is rolling over in his grave but I love it.
