Very nice job! A touch of air overall IMO, just a touch mind you @ 12k when you master would bring some space and extra clarity to just about everything. My .02.

great stuff...i did notice that your fvox seems to be more forward in the mix then your vox?...that was true on this tune and rainfall......just wondering if thats what your shooting for...also your lead guitar seems to sit back in the mix (very notable on sunrise) and feel quite thin in your expansive mixes...again if that's what your shoot for you home sweet home

you have silky smooth chops for sure...

great stuff!!! Thanks for the share!!!

    Great sound, writing and production.
My only crit would be that in today's environment, I think some minor vocal pitch correction would be in order.

I too like live musicians...Being a drummer, I really enjoy it when a good one is recorded.  You recorded a good one.  Other musicians shine as well

I WISH I was as talented a mix engineer as you...
Can you give us some details about how this was recorded (Pro Studio?)
What Mikes were used?  This is the sound/mix I am striving for but it eludes me for some reason.

Wow the female vocals gives me CHILLS!

I disagree with the vocal "pitch" correction comment.  I think the sterilization of music like that is killing us all.  Using that stuff is trying to make singers out of the masses when you have talent like this, the subtle pitch variances need to stay.  The slight pitch variations give this song character.

Good job, nice arrangement. I agree that less effects can be more in the feel of a song. IMHO

Harmonies stand out immediately (sounds uniquely different after hearing it a couple of times I think) it the song oddly attractive - you have that Roby Duke smooth sound..

I could put this on my playlist

Thank you.  I agree with you - perfect music cannot come from imperfect beings.  Slight imperfections do lend character and last I looked, I was far from perfect.  This is why a lot of singers disappoint you when you hear them live, IMHO.  They make it so perfect in the studio artificially that it takes the heart out of the song and make it impossible to duplicate live.  Don't get me started...  Lol.

As far as equip, I record here at home - Groove's Back Productions.  I do make money recording here so I guess you can call it professional.

I have several tools/plug-ins (Waves, UAD) that I use along with several mics - Audio Technica AT4040 (about $300-$400) for all vox. Monitors are Mackie HR824 along with some Altec-Lansing computer monitors to A/B with.

I still have a lot to learn about mixing and mastering and hopefully get better with each release.  My main tools are actually a few books and my ears.  "Mixing Audio" by Roey Izhaki, "The Art of Mixing" by David Gibson and "Music Tech Focus - Mastering 1 & 2" magazine by Music Tech.

If you'd like some specifics on equip or techniques, drop me a PM.

    Thanks again.

Very slick and smooth - If it were mine I might be inclined to bring the male voc slightly more forward, but ony a touch - seems to sit silghtly back in a few places.. Just the way I hear it, you're obviously far more accomplished than I, so feel free to dismiss this opinion as that of an uneducated oik ;)
