Sonitus delay memory leak - the plot thickens

Although Sonar 8.5 exhibits the memory leak with the Sonitus Delay that comes with the 8.5 DVD (version 3.3.3.141), Sonar 5 does not have a problem with the Sonar 8.5 delay. I can load up 5 instances of the Sonar 8.5 delay in Sonar 5 and there is no leak.

What's weird is that if I save this Sonar 5 project and re-open in Sonar 8.5, there is no leak. But if I create an identical new project from scratch in 8.5 with the same 5 delays, the leak happens. And just to complete the weirdness, if I open the project originally created in Sonar 8.5 in Sonar 5, there is a leak.

So it would appear that whether there is a memory leak or not with version 3.3.3.141 of the Sonitus delay is determined by the version of Sonar that the FX is originally inserted in.

It would be interesting to nail down the version of Sonar where this first becomes a problem.

Cheers, Peter.

As far as I know the leak started after/at version 8.5. Version 8.3 does not have the leak.

It's a little trickier than simply which version this problem started in. I'm talking about trying to narrow down which version of Sonar exhibits the problem with the Sonar 8.5 Sonitus Delay version 3.3.3.141 (or presumably the version that comes with X1 - haven't tried this). The point being that although there is an issue with the delay, there may also be something about Sonar that has changed that is contributing to the problem. This might help the Bakers sort it out.

    Cheers, Peter.

After installing X1 the instance of the  leak first occurred for me. That's why the fix is olding the Sonitus FX delay.dll...moving it to another folder and reinstalling  an older version   off of the 8.0 disc. I've used tons of delays in 8.5.3 and this problem never...I mean NEVER occurred!
