Turn off shaping of waveform picture on fades (to still see attack transient)

On crossfade (or any fade) , the picture of the waveform changes now. It is shaped to reflect the overall output. That can be nice, but . . .

How do I turn that behavior off?

I still need to clearly see where the attack transient is while I am editing. I don't want the picture of the waveform to change; particularly when adjusting an automatic crossfade edit.

I've looked and looked through X1 and seem to be missing it . . . and so, friendly forum users, I turn to you!

And dang it; why did the metronome just turn on by itself again?!

Preferences->Customization->Display un-check "Display Clip Fade Attenuation"

Sorry can't help with the metronome bug.

    Excellent.  Thanks so much!

My searches didn't help because I wasn't searching for the right terms.  "Clip Fade Attenuation"   That actually makes sense now.

    Aeosus,

When FX are applied to a track, will the waveform change to indicate new amplitude/harmonic changes, or does it just reflect the clip fades?

If you are using real-time FX in the FX bin, the waveform picture will not change.

If you "process>FX" on a clip, the waveform changes, but it has always done that; in that case, you are using destructive editing and replacing the wave file . . . . . but you probably know that part already . . .

So, no; I don't think there is a way to freeze a plug-in on a track like you would freeze a software synth, unless you wanted to bounce it to a new track and archive your original track.

Is that the same with all DAWS? Just curious.
