Synplant in X1

Hi folks,

New DAW, fresh install of X1 Studio, life is good!  This is my first move from 32-bit land over to 64, and I've found a few minor things (VSTi's and FX) that aren't compatible, but none that I will lose sleep over.  However...  I really like my Synplant, and can't get it to work in X1.

When I open it in the synth rack, the Synplant GUI displays for a split second and then disappears, and I get no sound or MIDI activity.  Also, if I try to do anything from there, like add another synth, or turn off the input echo on the Synplant instrument track, X1 quits responding and I have to restart.  I have the latest version of Synplant.  It is 32 bit.  I am only using Bit Bridge thus far, have not tried JBridge yet.

Have any of you experienced this issue?  What was your workaround?

Thank you,

Todd

    Hi perfectprint,

I've been a registered owner of Synplant for a while and was running it fine in 8.5.3 (WinXP, 32-bit).  I'm pretty sure the issue is 64-bit (X1 64-bit and now Win7x64).

Todd , tried it in both 8.5 and x1.. in 32 bit sonar (both) no prob

but both 64 bit versions problems. no sound in 8.5 and x1 bitbridge dialog came up and it didn't work.

all in Win 7 - 64.. was PP using vista at that time?

I would contact the synth maker, ask them when they are getting a 64 bit version out. Some synth makers were all over 64bit.. while others have just been real slow

I did attempt to try it on my other newly updated 64 bit host by another company , but that's crashing MASSIVELY so couldn't.

Thanks all.  And wetdentist, I just installed the JBridge demo, and Synplant now works.  Now on to learn a bit about JBridge!  Thanks for the suggestion.
