x1a forgetting surround busses buggy blues

this has happened before with 1xa, and it happened again now. I mixed a song in 2.1 and bounced a file... everything seemed fine.. opened the new file and it was silent.. went back into the sonar project, and the busses are all messed up and I can't click the "o" in I/O to change things around. The I/O dropdown menu is not responding.
 
anyone have an idea of what is causing this and how I can fix it??

sonar x1b, win 7, 12gig ram, 6gb ssd, i7 Hexa Processor i7-970, lynx aurora

    I also can't add new busses or anything else now in the project. I can clik "add new bus" once, nothing will happen, and after I do that the drop down menus go dead again
