Surgery Set For Thurday

I was told by the nurse that a sander and file will be used and I won't be able to walk for 6 weeks!? Do I need a second opinion? A different kind of Doctor? My head examined? A root Canal? Black-eyed Peas? Toilet Bowl?

    So, they're going high tech?

Ear plugs, eye protection, steel toe shoes, stuff like that?

Best of luck, probably sounds much worse than it will actually be....

The only thing that bothers me is I can't do my daily 3 mile walk. That's what keeps me from becoming round cuz of Boney's cooking. Last night it was egg rolls and fried rice. MAN, was it GOOD! For dessert she made cherry cobbler!

Sheesh, what the hell kind of surgery are you having that would involve a sander and a file?

I used to walk 3 miles every night too. I really need to start doing it again. :(( <-- double chin frowny.

Good luck on your surgery Thursday. Sounds nasty.

Best of luck, Bill, and, yeah- what are they doing to you anyway????

I was advised to have surgery for my back, and I told them "go surge yourself and give me a Percoset Rx."

NO!  don't let 'em operate on your foot!  NO NO NO!!  bone spur may be different, but I had plantar fasciitis surgery on my left foot.  it took over a year to really recover and I never recovered fully.  the surgery relieved the pain I was having from PF, but it caused my arch to go flat and now I have pain from that.

but I limped on that foot for over a year after the surgery just FROM the surgery.

    NEVER again!

It's a spur in my right big toe joint at the ball of my foot.

Man, that's a major flex point - definitely not a good place for problems.  I hope you have a full and speedy recovery.

As I'm writing this later... how did it go?

Mark, I didn't have to have the surgery you went through. All I had was the silicone shots to the spine thing 3 times. Man! that was enough. I lived with back problems for a very long time and I only have a little insight to what your going through. You have my best wishes my friend! Just don't let the pain meds wear off because it make its harder to turn it off again. Hang in there!!! We are all thinking of you.
