I use FF, and the show runs fairly smooth on it... there are freezes in the stream from time to time. I think that comes from their end.
Some of the archived shows are good....and some are...well... not so good. It also depends on the guest and the subject matter. Some of the "writing songs theory and reality" broadcasts would be really boring to someone into mixing ...for example.
This show was one of several in a series on mixing and engineering that I thought some cakers might enjoy. Michael was a recording engineer in a previous career, before he started TAXI. Seems that he has worked on some pretty famous name's albums, back in the day.
He starts into a topic and the things he knows just naturally leads him into some interesting and in depth monologues on those topics.
At the end, he realized there was so much more to cover, and he was already past the normal closing point. I agree, the questions were a bit unrelated. He normally asks for questions earlier in the show, and Craig (the guy off screen) monitors the chat to pick the good questions out. I think he was blindsided by ML at the end and didn't have any relevant ones picked out.
Especially the question about what software is best as relates to DAW's. Huhhhhh? That's an opinion question......
He'll be back again in a few weeks with the next part in the series.
ANYONE interested in hearing these live chats...chat with others on line, listen to the host & guest (if any) all you need to do is visit the TAXI website and sign up for email notification. They email a link...or visit the link above in the OP and bookmark it.... and check out the archives of older shows. The majority of the shows are aimed at songwriting and songwriters as opposed to the technical aspect.
Anyway... though some of you might enjoy it.
