Best Way To Get Multiple Instruments Into a Single PRV?

I'm trying my hand at composing in the PRV with multiple instruments and haven't found a good way to add the next instrument.

Currently I lasso select all the existing MIDI tracks and hit alt-3 which includes all the selected instruments as shown in the pic.

But now I want to add another instrument so I create a new MIDI track but there's no MIDI clip to select to include it in the above method. So I hit alt -3 which opens a NEW instance of the PRV, enter a few notes which now creates a selectable clip, select all the clips again and my new instrument is now included on that single PRV.

Is there another way?

In PRV menu click on Tracks - Pick tracks  and while holding down the Control key click on the track you want to add. It will now appear in PRV.  Temporarily mute all the other track in the area you circled and double left click to add a note; it will ask what colour(track you want to enter it on.  After that is done then you can unmute the other tracks again and away you go.

There are other methods but that should work.

Unless this was changed since S6, those steps are not necessary. Simply click the (new) track name in the PRV to make it current and enter notes.

I think he was looking to add another track to the PRV that he already had open and configured after getting the inspiration that he needed to add another instrument.  As I indicated there are other methods of doing it but for the problem at hand he would be able to continue right where he left off and add the lick in the new instrument.

Dreamkeeper, you are right,  I misunderstood what you were saying when I first read your reply.  The mute tracks isn't needed. Yes, just click the track name to activate. I was looking for the inline box that comes up to ask which track you want to enter a note on and that was the method to bring it up.  Totally unneeded in this case.

I just posted in another thread that you can change tracks(colour) just by clicking with the smart tool double headed arrows(4 arrows) and you then can enter notes in that track without going over to the track menu on the right.
