unlink/(relink?) step sequencer clip

hello,
once a clip is unlinked so that it can be changed independently, can it then be "relinked" afterward?
thanks.

edit: it seems as if it's fate has been sealed... destined to a life of solitude.

well, good thing it won't cause me too much extra work, but it will cause some. now i know to make all the universal changes before any clip specific changes. you live and you learn...
