Louise- Blues- Revisions 2/26
I wrote this little blues tune about 8 years ago, but never did a recording of Louise. Nothing fancy. My 11 year daughter always sings along when I play this on the acoustic, so it was mainly for her. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10261336

There is something about the kick that makes it feel like it jumps which I found distracting. I did make it through to the end. Thanks for sharing.

What wookie is hearing is The kick is not a shuffle groove, Use 1/8 triplet to quantize. If you do the blues, almost everything is triplet groove. We called it the Bump da Bump

Thanks for the listen guys. Using EZ Drummer, but I am not much of a drummer. I will have to rework them a little then and see if I can get more of a shuffle going.

johnnyV What Wookiee is hearing is The kick is not a shuffle groove, Use 1/8 triplet to quantize. If you do the blues, almost everything is triplet groove. We called it the Bump da Bump Spot on thats what I was trying to say but was suffering head fuzz, our older dog is showing her age and I have not been sleeping all that well and the words just weren't coming out right. Get that kick back in the groove and you have a cool tune.

The bass seems to follow a shuffle , just re do the kick. Easy way would be to play it live along with the tracks then quantize using triplet timing factor, try 1/8 triplet , you can always undo and keep trying till it sound right. I always do my kick tracks playing live on controller. That way you follow the changes and the stops too.

Thanks BIAB Dude and Johnny V for the listen. I did n't even realize that I could change the timing to tripplets, I will look into that.

Turn up the kick and the bass a tad. I think it will give your song a bit more drive. I like cheers

Now the snare rolls sound out of sync? Some of them, those little fills, Also I cannot hear the hi hats on my headphones , but make sure they are also in a shuffle groove. Something sounds like it's fighting the blues groove. The hi hats would duplicate the guitar rhythm. Your getting close. Are you using canned rolls? either they are not done at right tempo or they are also suffering from the shuffle blues!

Lowered the cymbals and guitar solo a little, I think I am pretty close on this one now.
