Inevitable crashes with X1a & E-MU 0404 USB

I've been testing this brilliant X1 for few weeks now, but something is wrong...after the X1a update, my system crashes every time I use X1 with my E-MU 0404 USB interface. The crash occurs very randomly, it may be when I choose different screenset, every time I close Sonar, during playback..."SONARPDR.EXE has stopped working". When I try to open Sonar again, the BSOD comes with something like this:

"IRQL_DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_"

There's no way to prevent this happening. I have tested the new E-MU beta-driver also for 7, but the problem still occurs. My system is:

Acer Aspire 5738ZG laptop
Intel T4400
4 GB RAM
E-MU 0404 USB audiointerface
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Sonar X1a Producer x64

My E-MU has worked absolutely great with previous versions of Sonar, no problems whatsoever...but now only the integrated Realtek works fine. But somehow that doesn't have enough horsepowers for my needs...

Does anyone else has this kind of problems, or am I asking stupid questions here? I hope the answer isn't "wait for X1b update"...

    Primitive: goto:http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/US/content/drivers

    install intel chipset driver:
    9.1.1.1015
update the OS at MS, fully

Update the video drivers from ATI

    this should get you going
Note: there is NO support at the 404's home page for win7

    Hi Primitive,
I'm new to X1 too, but have some experiences with other daws.
I've same operating system, but driving x1 32 bit,  and the same audio interface.

Firstly, I'm wondering what beta driver are you talking about?
I've seen win 7 beta drivers for pci cards, but not for 0404 usb.
Are you sure having installed the correct drivers?
I'm using the Vista-Driver for the EMU, it's running OK so far.
My Emu Asio driver version: 6.00.01.0001, Firmware Version: 8.04
I had some crashes in X1 but not in a way, I can't use X1.

    Wow, impressed...will check that out.
I was already looking a long time for this driver and gave up, believing there will be any.
    Thanks for the link

Same guy again...I've been reading this endless list of bugs and odd behaviour of X1a...thought I should again join the mass. ;O)

I've managed to get my X1a to work, BUT...only at 48 kHz @ 24 bit ASIO. Same EMU 0404 USB interface. Same system. That seems odd to me. All other combinations cause the same issue as I whined about in the beginning of this topic. 44.1 @ 16 bit, 96 kHz @ 24 bit, 44.1 @ 24 bit...crash every single time. When I was using Sonar 8.5 this system was same, and EMU worked fine even at 96 kHz @ 24 bit, but of course the computer went soon to it's knees. Has anyone else had similar problems? Of course, I hope not. ;O)

But I do hope it has something to do with this update:

    "March 15 Update:
    • ASIO Dynamic Sample Rate Improvements
      • Improvements have been made to the way SONAR handles dynamic sample rate changes with ASIO devices.
      • If an ASIO driver supports changing its sample rate dynamically, SONAR will automatically switch the device sample rate when playback is started without requiring a restart of the application."
