SONAR X1 & ReWire - The Sustain and lack-there-of

Hi all,

I'm going to throw this one out there because I've got no other recourse. I've scoured the internet trying to search for an answer and have found nothing. Even indirectly related issues cannot solve my dilemma. Here's the skinny:

1. I load up Sonar Producer X1 and launch a blank template.
2. I use the obligatory Insert > Rewire > Reason.
3. I click "Play" from Sonar's handsome icon gallery. Everything seems fine.
4. I stop the track mid-way through the fourth measure. I tell Sonar to go back to the beginning.
5. Suddenly, I lose all control over sustain. What I mean by this is that when I stop the track, I cannot make the sustained notes from the Reason track resume as they would if I were controlling them form Reason. I would appreciate some assistance or guidance. Thanks, guys!

you'll have to forgive me here but i'm just up out of bed, but to me what you are saying is, you re-wire reason, pencill notes in the prv, press play, stop mid way through a note, and there is no sustain ???

when i'm thinking sustain i'm thinking amp and filter envelopes on devices, is that what you're talking about??, or are you playing using a sustain pedle ??

I could be way off here, but it reminded me of a similar problem I used to have with Garritan Personal Orchestra. To fix it, I did this:

1. Open Preferences.
2. Go to Project -> MIDI
3. Deselect 'Zero controllers when play stops'.

Like I said, I'm probably way off but it should only take a few seconds to try it and undo it if it doesn't work. HTH.

My DAW: Intel i5, Cakewalk UA-1G, Win7 64 bit, SONAR X1a Producer 64 bit

Thank you so much! I can't believe it was something so rudimentary! Cheers!
