40 Oz. Hero - New Rock Song

Hey guys,

This is really an older track I had done called Fifty Gallon Jug.  Well.....it has lyrics & vocals now along with a name change.  So give it a listen when you get chance.  Josh Whiteside on vocals again.  I like the lyrics in this one.  I contributed a few lines but I have to give Josh credit for most of these cool lyrics.

some cool riffs in here. the vocals remind me of Cypress Hill crossed with Stiltskin. guitars come come forward and be a bit more distinct in the mid-range. nice solo.

I agree with MGH, the guitars aren't filling my ears with juice...and I like the full of guitar juice...louder!

Tone down those crashes and get some qualified medical attention to the guitar level stat.

You have a cool voice, BH.

Officer  "How many drinks you had there son"

    Driver   "just a a few"

Officer "three forty's doesn't count as a few"

Anyway, nice track, mix could use a bit of work still as mentioned.   I really noticed the lack of sheen during the guitar solo.   Maybe could use some reverb and tube.

Also, I wouldn't have minded if the kick hit a bit harder.

    Thanks,

    Mathew

Hey Mark I like the song but the half - open high hats seem a bit too loud .
Mix could use a small amount of work also , I think you have a good rock song here with some small adjustments .

    Hey, Mark,

Great rocker with punchy guitar tone, a tasty solo and "attitude" vocals!  I do agree with jamesyoyo about backing down the crash cymbals, and I would also bring the vocals up a db or two to make them stand out a bit better.

    Really nice work!

    Thanks for listening guys,

I'll definitely see if I can make some improvements to the mix as suggested.  \

James, that is my good friends Josh Whiteside on Vocals.  I only wish I had a cool sounding voice.  I did help a bit in the backing vocals which are just barking out some words.

I think once you get a handle on those crashes the vox will move up in the mix more...which is needed as is now they sit way too far back..BTW love the guitar tone...
