Is there anyway at all I can upgrade the ammounts of digital inputs and out puts I have ?

Hi all

Is there anyway I can upgrade the ammount of digital Coxial in puts and out puts on My VS700 ?

I have a bunch of harware units that work a lot better in Digital I feel so would be great to get them all conected that way.

Problem is I use a lot of them all at the one time if this wasnt the case I would buy a switcher to save me swaping cables about.

I really hope theres a way to do this it would make me one very happy Norrie

Any ideas any one ?

    You can get another vs700r.  I think the octapre is supposed to work w/ it too.

    I don't know of one but there should be some kind of convertor between adat to spdif/etc.  That would give you lots of i/os.

    If I could find some sort of adat to spdif/etc that would be awesome

    I think Behringer makes a box that adds 8 more digi inputs and connects digitally to your system.

    don't know if this would work? according to the blurb has 4 x coaxial in and 1 x coaxial out...might be worth giving them a ring and seing if it does what you want it to?

    are you talking about ADAT?  Also called lightpipe, it runs on the same cables but carries up to 8 channels at a time.  There are lots of choices for that, although the VS700 only has one ADAT i/o, so you are reduced to 4 i/o's at +48 kHz.

    But you can use all kinds of ADATs, from Behringer's $200 unit to a $2000 lynx.  And many interfaces will remember routing even if not hooked up to computers (my TC does) and thus can be used if they have an ADAT.
