Man Utd. 1 Crawley Town 0
A surprisingly good match. Crawley's defence was well organized but they made much of the positive play, the Sussex support was passionate and vocal and they made themselves known in the Theatre of Dreams. Many top level clubs would have been proud of that performance against United this season and perhaps Crawley have been able to recoup some of their over-investment from the sponsorship, prize fund, gate reciepts and TV rights. Still some slim hope of a Sussex club at Wembley this year as Rye United are now in the Quarter finals of the FA vase. btw: why does Wayne Rooney have to be such a git?

Jonbouy Crawley have been able to recoup some of their over-investment from the sponsorship, prize fund, gate reciepts and TV rights. Drawing Man U in the cup and getting a replay saved Exeter City from bankruptcy a couple of years back. Pity Crawley narrowly missed a draw and a second big payday. 'still it was an excellent achievement for them. While I am not a big footie fan I did go and watch this one in a local bar. I like to get behind an underdog.

Wayne Rooney is a git because he's underpaid so has lots of worries. Have a heart, wouldn't you be a git if you had to struggle by on £200,000 a week? And before you think that's not so bad, he has to work most mornings and every weekend. It ain't easy you know.

Thing is if he played at County level for a couple of months he'd have had that attitude taken out of his face by now and he'd be even uglier. Oo'er I'm almost sounding like a soccer hooligan now.

One of my 'heroes' Carl Fogarty (4x Superbike World Champion) is a prime example. As a motorcycle racer he is a God. If you ever meet him and talk to him it doesn't take long to realise that he doesn't even make the starting grid as a human being with any sort of humanity. Oh well, at least I like to think I have some humanity to make up for my lack of talent.

mgh Utd's B team = rubbish. Pah! Feeble comment and I ain't buying it. There was at least a couple of Fabio's 'World Beaters' out there being made to look ordinary. The very last thing Alex needed was a draw and it looked very likely that was how it was going to end up with the team he'd fielded. No B team excuses United were just poor and barely up to the job they needed to do. Period. Either that or Crawley are a pretty good side, but in reality they ain't exactly runaway favourites currently in their division.

Despite winning 1-0 on Saturday, poor old Bristol Rovers are still only 1 place of the bottom in league 1. I think the writing could really be on the wall for them this term. If they do manage to stay up, it will probably at the expense of at least 2 other West Country teams - Swindon, Yeovil & Plymouth are all down there with "The Gas" in the brown stuff.
