Untitled pseudo-orchestral/soundtrack piece

Here: http://soundcloud.com/bensizer/main-theme-revised

I used mostly East West Symphonic Orchestras Silver for this, with a little help from Dimension Pro and Superior Drummer 2.

I'm not entirely happy with it, but I'd like to hear opinions and constructive suggestions on how I can improve when writing this sort of thing.

Sonar Platinum (Newburyport) / Win 8.1 64bit / Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 / Absynth / Kontakt / Play / Superior Drummer 2 / ESP LTD guitar / etc

Not bad.  I think the beginning 2 1/2 minutes will suit the purpose you state well.  Being a bit of a video game buff I can say that it would make pleasant background music for town wondering.

Going with a game in mind, when the drums kick in I can envision it being for a cut-scene before a big battle.  You have the commander shouting his morale boosting speech with all the warriors standing in format listening pounding their swords and shields, archers in the back readying their bows, fill their quivers.  Mages to the side meditating.

The only thing I would've liked to hear is the piece really ramp up for some battle music.  To me it felt the last half of the song was a build up for a battle.  It was very good, but after writing the scene in my head along with the music, I'm feeling a little down that we didn't all get to go out and kick some ass.

I liked it though.  Good job.
