Weird Clicking over Recordings

So i use a line 6 POD Studio UX1 as my midi interface for recording guitar. When i record it sounds fine, exactly as i want it but when i play it back i hear a static or clicking over the track. any ideas as to what the problem is or how to fix it?

It sounds like you have a sound card driver issue. What are your settings for your sound card? so you have the latest drivers for your sound card? Have you tried adjusting the sound card driver  settings, like rasing the ASIO buffers or WDm slider?

not sure how to adjust the driver settings. im on windows 7 and im not entirely used to the transition from XP yet. sound card drivers are up to date though. my sound card only runs at 16 and 24 bit and sonar is 32 bit. could it be that my sound card isnt up to par? i also was suggested that it could be electrical interference.

    Hi,

If it's clicks and pops that you're hearing, try adjusting the UX1's settings in the ASIO panel.  On the top Sonar menu, click on "Options", then "Audio", and then the "Asio Panel" button to open the UX1 driver panel.  Adjust the slider, and you may also have to change the buffer settings.  There is a help button that explains what the controls on the ASIO control panel do for the POD Studio.

Be sure to use the Line6 Monkey software from the Line6 website to be sure that you do have the latest drivers.

    Hope this helps!

...and also ensure that under options>audio you DO have the line 6 device as the timing master for playback and recording...

the failure to set the timing master to be your actual playback device will certainly give clicks.. and we all know how i know that!..

Its not electrical. Its a driver issue and Bob  listed how to adjust your drvier settings.
