MC5 and EZDrummer on Windows 7 64-bit ?
The only other thread I've seen on this combination was over on the Sonar 8.5 forum and have not seen a resolution on there either as far as using EZD without the jbridge utility. Backing up a bit, is anybody here using MC5 on Win 7 64-bit, and EZ Drummer in its 64-bit updated version? (ver 1.2.1.1)?
I can describe in a bit of detail what I'm seeing during tests so far, but first I'll mention the system I'm using:
Acer Aspire notebook with Win 7 64-bit, external USB sound with Edirol UA-4FX with its 64-bit driver; MC5.0.5. with its update for Win 7 support, and EZ Drummer in its latest upgraded version.
I have bought the jbridge utility and downloaded it, but there was no instructions at all on HOW to load it or use it, so anyone who is that far, let me know please? I was more interested in trying to NOT have to use it, instead using the 64-bit update on EZD.
Now, what I'm seeing so far is:
MC5 loads up fine, works fine, except that whether I drag and drop a MIDI EZD or another synth instrument, it drops OK, the playback is great, but I'm unable to edit that MIDI data when I dbl-click on the groove clip (it just never opens the editor), or when I try to select it and go to Loop mode (Ctl-L), it won't allow any expansion of the groove at all. Not sure if this is some MC5 limitation under x64, or that none of the plug-ins are functioning properly. Anybody got any ideas or seeing anything similar? I'm running MC5 as Administrator, under Win XP Pro SP3 compatilibty mode. Thanks for any tips!
